Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, married Nicola Peltz earlier this year, and he publicly quashed rumors that his wife and mother were falling out in an interview earlier in the week. However, claims have emerged in Heat magazine that Victoria and David Beckham are unhappy with the interview, allegedly calling it “an attention-grabbing stunt”.
Just as the royal family’s mantra is ‘never complain, never explain’, the Beckham house philosophy is said to be ‘silent rather than acknowledging’.
As a result, Victoria featured a stiff upper lip throughout the scandal, during which followers asked why the social media-savvy pair failed to hit the ‘like’ button on one of the many messages from each other over the past few weeks.
The scandal escalated when Nicola posted a photo of herself in tears in bed on her Instagram account – which also received no public response from Victoria.
However, Brooklyn recently assured the world that there was no feud between his two favorite women, saying, “Everyone gets along.”
A source later told Heat that the candid interview “left David and Victoria in awe.”
The anonymous source, allegedly close to the family, continued: “They see it as a stunt to get attention.
“In Brand Beckham, the philosophy is that you remain silent rather than acknowledge, and then the story fades away.”
The source also suggested the Beckham matriarch may have stepped on Nicola’s toes earlier in the year by insisting she had to “trust her fashion expertise”.
Although the Brooklyn sweetheart had an innocent explanation, the source published in Heat described Victoria as a difficult mother-in-law, saying she was “constantly stepping on [the couple’s] decisions during the planning phase of the wedding”.
Fans had also noticed that while the rest of the Beckhams set off on a lavish yacht vacation earlier this month, Brooklyn and Nicola were the only two absent.
Breakup rumors were also sparked when the Beckhams did not sit with the Peltzes at the head table at Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding, with only the bride’s family seated at the place traditionally reserved for two families.
A source told the Daily Mail “there is a feeling the Peltzes are turning their backs on the Beckhams instead” – although a source close to the Beckhams denied this.
Another source told Closer that Victoria fears she won’t have a close relationship with future grandchildren because Brooklyn and Nicola live in the United States.
“She doesn’t really know what happened between her and Nicola and is eager to sort things out before the problem escalates even further,” they claimed.
Nicola admitted that she prefers the United States because it allows her to be close to her biological family, including the billionaire father she has always been close to.
She told Tatler she would refuse to move to the UK if the opportunity arose, which could have ruffled the feathers of the Beckham household.
