Charlene, Princess of Monaco is “much better” in her recovery from exhaustion.
The 44-year-old princess has been undergoing treatment for “exhaustion, both emotional and physical” since November, and her husband Prince Albert has now given an update on his recovery.
The 63-year-old prince – who married the former Olympic swimmer in 2011 – told the Monaco-Matin newspaper: “Princess Charlene is much better, and I hope she will be back in the Principality very soon.”
The princess – who spent six months in South Africa in 2021 – has received treatment outside the Principality in recent months.
In January, his recovery was described as “satisfactory and very encouraging”.
In a statement, the Palace said at the end of the month: “Princess Charlene is currently continuing in a satisfying and very encouraging manner.”
However, it was noted that his recovery would “take several more weeks”.
In November, Prince Albert confirmed that his wife was suffering from “emotional and physical exhaustion”.
He also denied a host of other rumors that had been circulating about his wife in the weeks before she started treatment.
Responding to the speculation, the prince – who has seven-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella with the former Olympian – said: “I’ll probably say it a few times but it has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear.”
Prince Albert insisted there were no problems with his marriage – although he did not elaborate on Princess Charlene’s medical condition.
He said, “It’s not problems in our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It’s of a different nature.”
