“Partial Parental FaceTime” Dan Walker Addresses Christmas Failure With Parents | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

Dan Walker, 44, took to his Instagram page on Friday to post a screenshot of himself on a FaceTime call with his mom and dad. But it looked like the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 star’s parents were struggling to get their smartphones to work while seemingly not realizing they were off the hook.

Clearly amused by the mishap of his mum and dad not realizing their son could only see half of their faces, the BBC Breakfast host shared a screenshot of the awkward moment with his 266,000 followers.

“I just FaceTimed the folks on Christmas Eve…at least I think it was them,” he wrote alongside a laughing crying emoji.

“One day I hope they understand the #PartialParentalFaceTime concept.”

The post, which drew north of 10,000 likes within hours, left fans hysterical as its slew of supporters left their reactions in the comments section.

“So funny Dan, God bless them both!” Merry Christmas Dan and beautiful family! @siobhan.crossan wrote.

“People across the country are nodding because they recognize the exact same thing their parents are doing too,” @sarahatkinsonphotography continued.

@margaretfowler16 responded to the jokes by saying, “I’m sure you enjoyed talking to them even though you haven’t seen them!”

Even Strictly Judge Shirley Ballas left a remark, joking that she too could relate to the post.

“I’m gonna miss training with Nadiya today and learning a new dance and getting ready for the semi-final because that’s kind of been the rhythm of my week for three months, weirdly. .

“But I’m just glad it happened in the first place, so that’s how I see it.”

His co-host Sally Nugent chimed in, saying she’s equally proud that Dan hasn’t left the show, given the many hats he wears while juggling his checkered career.

“What makes me really proud is that you kept going,” Sally replied.

“You’ve worked here, you don’t live in London, you have three children, lots of other demands, three jobs, a dog to walk every day, lots of people to take care of.

“And you still managed to integrate all of that, which is amazing.”

Earlier this month, Dan revealed he won’t be taking part in the Strictly tour next year due to his heavy work commitments.

After “spending so much more time on the show than I ever imagined”, the journalist said he would like to spend some of his free time next year in the comfort of his home.
